Crisp nose with greengage and gooseberry fruits along with floral elderflower. There are crunchy ripe apple notes on the palate, which has a bright acidity and a very clean finish. Great value Sauvignon Blanc.
Domaine de la Bergerie is a family estate run by Ludivine, daughter of Jacky Marteau, from whom we shipped for many years. The domaine`s holdings include 19 prime hectares of Sauvignon Blanc, growing on southern exposed, flint and pebble plots, overlooking the river Cher.
Loire wines were a favourite of French court more than 300 years ago. Today a select group of young wine growers are maintaining those proven standards. The wines are light yet elegant and flavourful without excessive alcohol.
Food Matching: Grilled fish on the barbecue during summer, or a fresh starter with asparagus. Ideal on its own, or with goat's cheese.
