Grape: 100% Negroamaro, aged 6 months in old oak barrels

Vinicola Cantele is located near Lecce in Salento in the far south of Italy and produces wines using mostly indigenous grape varieties. 50ha of estate vineyards with 150ha under management, farmed using sustainable practices. Thanks to its vibrant acidity and its wonderful balance of fruit and earth flavours, the popularity of Negroamaro only continues to grow.

COLOUR: Streaks of garnet giving way to intense ruby red.

NOSE: Candied fruits and spices that evolve into clean underbrush, tea, and amber notes.

PALATE: Enhanced by notes of red flowers, the aromas return on the palate transported by confident but not overbearing alcohol. The tannins and fresh acidity work in counterpoint to create a balanced, soft wine.

Negroamaro can be enjoyed with simple pasta dishes or pizza, but try it with typical Puglian dishes including slow baked lamb and potatoes, antipasto with Calabrese salami, pepperonata tomato stew, or grilled tuna steaks with thyme and aubergines.
