Description
Puligny Montrachet, Louis Latour, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France, 2022
Grape: 100% Chardonnay, 30 year old vines on limestone & scree soils, 45hl/ha yield, hand picked, barrel fermented with malolactic, aged 8-10 months in French oak (15% new)
This wine has a pale yellow colour. Its nose is intense and floral, with hints of acacia and honeysuckle. Round on the palate, it reveals notes of apricot, brioche and almond. Nice and long finish, great eleagnce.
"Hmm - a more composed width of aroma - yellow citrus with the accent of barrel. More open and panoramic - the silkiest of texture and a mineral fluidity that supports all the flavour. Juicy and delicious - more chewy finishing than the linear Meursault."
Burgundy Report - Bill Nanson - December 2023
Food Pairing: Poached-eggs in white wine sauce - Provence style dorade - ham wrapped veal - Chaource cheese.
