Description
Morgon Côte du Py, Château des Jacques (Louis Jadot), Beaujolais, Burgundy, France, 2013
Grape: 100% Gamay, aged for 12 months in French oak (50% new)
With a deep cherry colour, and nut and red fruits aromas, this wine has firm tannins and lots of structure. The manganese (in the granite of the Py) brings the potential to age this wine over several years.
"Masses of fruit and minerally texture. Lots of chewiness. Unlike the Rochelle, which could be drunk in youth, this demands time, in an admirable way. Very lively indeed but very very youthful."
17/20 points, Jancis Robinson, November 2014
