Fattoria Le Pupille, owned by Elisabetta Geppetti, is a well known 75ha estate located in the Maremma region on the Tuscan coast. Famed for its "Saffredi" flagship Bordeaux-style wine and their 100% Syrah, "Le Pupille", the majority of production is for Morellino di Scansano wines.

Producer Tasting Note:

Deep and bright ruby colour. Fine perfumes impact of blackberry and blueberry jam, blackcurrant and mint; it opens on aromas of Mediterranean bush, red orange, tobacco and black pepper. The mouthfeel is round and tasty; it shows a dynamic structure, embodied with a beautiful freshness in which the silky tannic texture constitutes an excellent basis for a long term bottle maturation. Very persistent on citrus notes.

"Open and dynamic on the nose it shows notes of red plums, orange blossoms, chopped almonds, pressed white flowers and guarana. Medium body, very soft tannins and a medium-stretched finish that shows elegance and smoothness. Aged in large Slavonian oak barrels. Better from 2023."

"Stimulating, juicy cherry red with beautiful brilliance. Elegant nose with plenty of licorice, black cherry, cassis, and a subtle saltiness. A prime example of a modern Morellino. Plenty of sweet cherry combined with a bouquet of herbs. Roasted salted almonds and fresh plum. A wine with powerful yet perfectly elegantly integrated tannins. The Riserva is young and challenges the palate, but everything within its comfort zone. Sangiovese with drinking appeal!"
