Grape: 100% Montepulciano, lightly oaked.
Intense purple in colour. A powerful, vinous aroma with blackberries and cherries. The palate is round and rich with notes of ripe berry fruit, sweet black cherries, a touch of liquorice and a distinctive, spicy character from 24 months' ageing (9 months in wooden casks). Chewy tannins support the palate which finishes long and fruity.
A great match for hearty pasta dishes with spicy tomato sauces, Salami and mature hard cheeses.
