Description
Los Haroldos Reserve Malbec, La Consulta, San Carlos, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina, 2021
Grape: 100% Malbec from 70 year old vines at 1200m above sea level. Aged for 10 months in French oak barriques.
Deep black fruits, raisins and toast. This is a very well structured wine with firm tannins and refreshing acidity. Toasty, cedar notes mingle well with bramble fruit and dark cherries. A long and complex finish.
"Lovely aromas of blackberries, raspberries, black spices and a touch of leafy notes and mineral nuances. Vibrant tannins, warm finish."
91/100 points (Silver Medal), Decanter World Wine Awards, January 2023
"From high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley, this malbec plays in the key of ripeness and succulence. It has sweet notes of red fruits and spices. The palate is generous in creamy textures, and the acidity is very well placed to provide balance in the malbec paradigm to accompany a barbecue."
90/100 points, Patricio Tapia, Descorchados, January 2024
This wine is rich, complex and concentrated and needs food of equal quality. It will pair very well with slow roasted venison and autumn vegetables.
