The Vallee d' Aoste (Val d’Aosta) sits in the far northwest of Italy, close to both the French and Swiss borders. Marco Martin of Lo Triolet has been working his own 5ha up here in this challenging, high alpine terrain since 1993. Located in the village of Introd on the southern side of the Dora Baltea river, just three miles from the awe inspiring peaks of the Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso.
White grape varieties are grown at altitudes up to 900 m.a.s.l and reds at 600-800 m.a.s.l. True "mountain" wine!
Excellent as an aperitif, suitable with fish dishes, cheese-based starters.
