Grapes: 45% Cabernet Sauvignon & 55% Sangiovese, hand picked, aged 8 months in mostly used French oak barrels and steel vats

Tenuta San Guido is most well known as the producer of "Sassicaia" in Bolgheri on the Tuscan coast. "Le Difese" is their third wine, which was first made in 2002. 

The 2022 vintage was rather challenging, and not especially generous in quantity, but the grapes from the hillside vineyards were excellent with great balance of total acidity and not excessive alcohol content. Le Difese 2022 shows a beautiful intensity of fruit, softness, and pleasantness of well-integrated tannins. Showing a warm, Mediterranean style with red berries and aromas of pomegranate, leather, and spice notes of liquorice & clove. 

"The 2022 Le Difese is plump, juicy and expressive, all of which make it a fine choice for drinking now and over the next handful of years. Crushed flowers, succulent red cherry fruit, mint, spice and blood orange all race across the palate. This exuberant yet mid-weight coastal Tuscan red is a total pleasure bomb. The 2022 is an especially fine edition. It benefits from a warm year - which can be a positive for entry-level wines - earlier bottling and selection. Le Difese is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese"
