Description
Halfpenny Green, Penny Red, England
Grapes: A blend of Rondo, Regent, Triomphe d’Alsace, Divico.
Established in 1983 by the Vickers family in South Staffordshire, Halfpenny Green now has 30 acres of vineyards which are looked after by founder, Martin Vickers. His son, Clive, is the winemaker of these award-winning wines. Sixteen different varieties are planted, most of which are hybrids suitable to the changeable English weather, but classic French grapes are planted for the production of sparkling wines.
A well-rounded wine, with black cherries and forest fruits on the nose and palate.
Brilliant with grilled meats and vegetables, or pizza and tomato-based pasta dishes.
