Description
Halfpenny Green Black Country Gold, England
Grape Varieties – A blend including Seyval Blanc, Madeline Angevine and Reichensteiner
Straw-coloured in the glass, with grapefruit and honeyed aromas. The sweetness carries on the palate, with apricots and dessert pears tickling the taste buds.
Established in 1983 by the Vickers family in South Staffordshire, Halfpenny Green now has 30 acres of vineyards which are looked after by founder, Martin Vickers. His son, Clive, is the winemaker of these award-winning wines. Sixteen different varieties are planted, most of which are hybrids suitable to the changeable English weather, but classic French grapes are planted for the production of sparkling wines.
Serve – Chilled. Perfect on its own anytime as a sweeter style aperitif, and pairs well with aromatic Asian & North African dishes, or with mild to medium blue cheeses.
