Description
Halfpenny Green, Bacchus White, England, 2022
Grape: Bacchus, unoaked.
Established in 1983 by the Vickers family in South Staffordshire, Halfpenny Green now has 30 acres of vineyards which are looked after by founder, Martin Vickers. His son, Clive, is the winemaker of these award-winning wines. Sixteen different varieties are planted, most of which are hybrids suitable to the changeable English weather, but classic French grapes are planted for the production of sparkling wines.
A light-bodied, dry white produced from the most popular variety for English "still" wines. Flavours of lemon zest, apple, pear and nettle. Often described as similar to Sauvignon Blanc in style.
Serve chilled as an aperitif, or pair with grilled fish, poultry, or vegetable based pasta dishes.
