Greco is a white grape variety grown mainly in Campania in the south of Italy. Neighbouring regions of Puglia and Molise have plantings of the grape and it's also found on the island of Capri (Bay of Naples). Often blended with other native southern Italian varieties, Greco's most famous incarnation is in the DOCG wines of Greco di Tufo where flavours of lemons, pears, green plums and toasted almonds are typical. These wines can be full-bodied with a distinctive volcanic, mineral complexity. Match with fish, oysters, lobster, shellfish and sushi. Also, excellent with buffalo mozzarella, or a puttanesca caper & tomato pasta sauce.
