Produced by Rosemary Cakebread as part of the "Suzuri Series" of wines.
Laced with wild strawberry but also nuanced with woolly thyme and wet stone. Burgundian in character and winemaking, fermentation occurs in open top tanks with just enough stems to perfect elegant tannins. The soft ruby colour is deceptive, there is grip and amplitude to these wines that grabs our attention.
Transparent ruby. Really interesting wine in which the sweetness is an integral part of the grape variety rather than a winemaking decision. Beautiful balance, freshness, delicacy and purity. If I lived in California, I’d snap it up. In Europe, it’s difficult to ignore the plethora of old-vine Spanish Garnachas that sell for a fraction of this. It certainly tastes of Grenache and is utterly unforced. Lots of life on the end."
