Fonseca Siroco White Port 

In most countries, Port is traditionally enjoyed at the end of the meal.  The exception is white Port, especially the drier style, which makes an excellent aperitif. 

It is a blend of classic white Port grape varieties, predominantly Malvasia Fina with smaller proportions of Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato and  Arinto, grown on the cooler, higher vineyards of the Douro Valley. To achieve its crisp dry finish, the wine is allowed to ferment for longer than other styles of Port before it is fortified. Ageing in small oak vats gives Siroco its smoothness as well as its attractive ripe fruit flavours and delicate nuttiness.

"Light pinky-gold and basically dry, a little meaty character, dry figgy notes, a touch smoky. The palate dry and intense, searing acidity, a lovely bracing lick of saltiness in a quite complex and fascinating white Port."

"Orange peel, very ripe orange, rosemary seasoning. Golden with greenish reflections, 3 years old. Made in a wine press with mechanical treading to extract fat and color from the must. In the mouth, it is very rich, confirming the very ripe stone fruit that was revealed on the nose. Delicious and very vibrant due to the beautiful acidity it contains. You can feel the delicious wood, which gives a succulent milky flavor and also a little oxidation. All this with apricot and nuts. Interestingly, with all this life we ​​have a dry wine where fermentation is allowed to continue for a long time to process the sugar that remains in the residual range of 25 g/l."
