Domain Road Bannockburn Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand, 2021
Grape: 100% Pinot Noir, destemmed with 8% whole bunch, fermented in stainless steel, aged 10 months in French oak barriques (31% new).
Fruit is sourced from the Defiance vineyard on Felton Road, Bannockburn.
Deep garnet with purple hues in colour, this Pinot Noir has fragrant aromas of violets, dark cherry, blackberry, dark plum, spice, tobacco leaf and toasty oak with a touch of mint on the nose. The palate is rich and concentrated with ripe black plum, cherry, dark chocolate and blackberry. A full bodied wine with ample silky fine tannins, leading to a long ripe berry finish.
