The Côte de Beaune area is the southern part of the Côte d'Or, the limestone ridge that is home to the great names of Burgundy wine.
Pernand-Vergelesses, Ladoix, Aloxe-Corton, Savigny-lès-Beaune, Chorey-lès-Beaune, Beaune, Pommard, Volnay, Monthélie, Saint Romain and Auxey-Duresses form the northern wine growing areas of the Cote du Beaune. To the south lie Meursault, Blagny, Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint Aubin, Santenay and les Garanges.
