Grapes: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Pinotage and 10% Merlot, hand picked, basket pressed, aged 12 months in French oak barrels
A unique, full -bodied red blend, with Pinotage, South Africa's own cultivar. Pleasantly dry tannins, spicy with underlying fruit (ripe berries).
The Clos Malverne wine farm was established by owner Seymour Pritchard in 1969 with the first commercial wine released in 1988. Ten years' later, the first Cape Blend (Auret) was produced, garnering a 5 Star review from the John Platter Wine Guide.
The 2018 vintage has also achieved critical acclaim with 4½ Stars from Platter.
