Description
Akemi Rioja Blanco Felix Jimenez, Bodegas Ontanon, Rioja, Spain, 2019
Grape: 100% Viura, organic, 35 year old vines, oaked
The Akemi Blanco is made from 100% old-vine Viura from a single plot. Aged in predominantly second-use American oak, the wine is beautifully rounded and balanced with lively acidity. The tropical and stone fruit come first followed by the creamy texture and feel.
A joint project between Bodegas Ontañón and Riojan chef Felix Jimenez. The wine was made specifically to match with the Japanese sushi and fusion cuisine that has earnt Felix a Michelin star. The name Akemi means "Beautiful Dawn" and you'll find it on the menu at Kiro in Logroño where Felix makes his name.
Also drink with rich, seafood and fish dishes including lobster, turbot, hake and tuna, roasted poultry and white meats in creamy sauces, sheeps' cheeses.
